NEW KEY SUCCESS FOR THE IVECO BUS FULL ELECTRIC SOLUTION IN PARIS
IVECO BUS, with its 12-meter full electric E-WAY, was selected as part of the major European tender for electric buses launched by the Parisian transport operator, RATP and funded by Île-de-France Mobilités, the Parisian transport authority. This new tender is part of the implementation of the Bus 2025 plan aimed at making the Paris city bus fleet and its region more environmentally friendly. These buses, marketed in France under the name GX ELEC, will soon join those already in operation on RATP lines.
As part of the most ambitious purchasing program of electric buses in Europe, RATP group and Île-de-France Mobilités have renewed their trust in IVECO BUS with the award of a contract of 180 electric 12-meter buses. These city buses will be added to the 247 ones already in operation or in delivery. IVECO BUS will thus become RATP’s leading supplier for electric buses.
The 100% electric technology from IVECO BUS has been chosen once again for its technical and economic performance. Thanks to its environmental qualities and its technological maturity, it will support RATP in the deployment of its BUS 2025 plan. Indeed, it fully meets the expectations of RATP and Île-de-France Mobilités as it offers significant environmental benefits and allows, as of today, to implement reliable solutions, in order to improve tomorrow’s mobility: air quality, climate protection and silence in operation.
RATP has elected the night-time charging version of the E-WAY, best-selling electric model in France in 2020, which can be recharged in a few hours in bus centres. Synonymous with smooth driving and quiet experience, this full electric bus helps to improve the comfort for the driver, the passengers and local residents.
This full electric model is produced in the electromobility center of excellence of HEULIEZ in Rorthais (France) and is part of the E-WAY battery-powered bus range, available in four lengths (9.5m, 10.7m, 12m and 18m) and three charging modes: overnight at the depot, via pantograph (ascending or descending) or mixed recharging to meet the specific autonomy needs of each customer.
Stéphane Espinasse, IVECO BUS Brand Leader, declared: «We are proud to have been selected again for the largest European tender, even global outside Asia, for electric buses. It is an honour to be able to support RATP in the deployment of its ambitious Bus 2025 plan, which aims to have a fleet of 100% clean buses. The choice of the E-WAY is a confirmation of the expertise of Iveco Bus in the field of Zero Emission vehicles.»
