VOLKSWAGEN COMMERCIAL VEHICLES MOVES VW BUS FESTIVAL TO 2023
Due to the current situation in Europe, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles is moving the VW Bus Festival to next summer (new dates: 23 to 25 June 2023). It was originally intended to run the festival with several thousand VW campers from all over the world on the Hanover trade fair site from 15 to 17 July this year.

Lars Krause, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles Brand Board of Management Member for Sales and Marketing: «The VW Bus Festival is a big topic on all of the community’s social media channels, and it’s proving hugely popular. We can therefore understand the Bulli fans’ disappointment at the postponement. We hope that everyone will understand our decision. Today, no one knows what the situation will look like in July. However, we do not want to celebrate a festival when there is war in Europe and refugees arrive in Hanover and have to be cared for». The city is currently the central point of contact for refugees in Lower Saxony.
Krause: «We will hold the festival a year later, in summer 2023 – and will already be starting ticket sales this year.»
Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles first put on a big VW Bus Festival in Hanover in 2007. 3.500 camper vans were registered that year, and over 70.000 visitors joined the festival.
